A Special Thanks
We are deeply indebted to Mrs. Marvia Mitchell, the sexton of Rose Hill Cemetery, as she has been an invaluable resource during this research. She has answered our many questions with patience and good humor, and the depth of her knowledge cannot be measured. We are also grateful for her generosity in sharing a little of her air conditioning on some sweltering summer days.
